Assertion on Equality.

This is an assertion to “Everything Potent is Dangerous” By Wallace Stengner.

Wallace Stegner seems to be a man who has one thing on his mind, the welfare of humankind. He, unlike the majority of the human population, does not believe in a certain religion, yet he fallows the teachings of the Christian faith. Some of the things even hardcore Christians have trouble with, he fallows.
He says, “However far I have missed achieving it, I know that moderation is one of the virtues I most believe in.” Moderation is one of the hardest attributes to correctly fallow. The human will to have more normally is too much for a person to bear, yet he keeps trying to achieve it. This is something anyone can admire in a person.

The most important of the attributes he believes in, though, is self respect and the respect of others. It is so hard not to question someone’s intelligence when they say something stupid or trip over a wire, but he strives to keep these people happy. When people are feeling sad or alone, he tries to make these people seem just as good as everyone else. This sense that everyone is equal is something distilled in his brain, “All this is to say that I believe in conscience, not as something implanted by divine act, but as something learned from infancy from the tradition and society which has bred us.”
