Assertion-Life Is Wonderfully Ridiculous

Life Is Wonderfully Ridiculous
By: Claude Knobler

My career goals and plans for the future most certainly do not include gorilla suits and being a private eye, like Claude Knobler’s. Instead I wish to go to college, graduate, and continue on to grad school. Nowhere in my plans do I wish to be spontaneous and accept any job that comes at me; however, I feel I can learn from Knobler’s story of spontaneity. Knobler describes his crazy life but yet how he wouldn’t change it at all. I hope to include this principle in my own life. I have a tendency (just a small one) to be a control freak. I like to be punctual, in charge of what’s going on around me; I hate relying on others, especially when I am more than capable of doing it on my own. I am very determined. But maybe these characteristics will have a more negative effect on my future than a positive one. If I am too busy controlling the world, how will I learn to loosen up and have fun? Life isn’t just about work, work, work, work. Part of being successful in my life will to be a well-rounded individual. I can’t achieve this success if I don’t have a family, or a social life, plus a strong career. I can learn from Knobler that enjoying life the way it comes at you can be just as enjoyable as if you plan every second. While life may take me in unexpected twists and turns if I learn to relax little I will probably become more successful and enjoy it along the way too.
