John. F Kennedy's Inaugural Address (A)

In 1961, President John F. Kennedy’s inaugural address made Americans change their perspectives on liberty, citizenship, and sacrifice. Throughout the inaugural address, John F. Kennedy often encourages his fellow Americans to help and not fear the changes that they will encounter in that generation. I agree on most of John F. Kennedy’s ideas on how America should emerge itself into new discoveries and how Americans should perform their civic duty and help.

I strongly agree with John F. Kennedy’s statement on how America should put its best effort to help “the people in the huts and villages of half the globe struggling to break the bonds of mass misery”. I believe that America should help less-developed countries for the basic reason that it is right. Some people disagree, saying that we should worry about America before assisting other countries. However, the aid America gives to third-world countries to fight against war and poverty is one of the reasons why America is a Superpower in the world.

In his inaugural address, John F. Kennedy said that America should explore the new discoveries of science, not to fear from it. John F. Kennedy said that we should take chances, and explore the unknown. He is correct because to improve as a country we have to make new discoveries to benefit the world and us. To go forward, we often have to make advances in studies and technology. One example of this was John F. Kennedy’s space program, which led to the first man to walk on the moon.

John F. Kennedy’s inaugural address inspired Americans to help and do what they can for their country. Of course, the famous quote of the speech was “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.” In our society, people often complain on how America does not meet their needs. However, if we all do our part to help the less-fortunate ones in our country, America would become a better place. Along with John F. Kennedy’s is other main points; we do this to assure the success of liberty.
