Dodge Durango Ad (A)

The Dodge Durango ad appeals to more men than women. The message of this advertisement is to live life to its fullest and enjoy its many pleasures; “Grab life by the horns.” The new Dodge Durango is trying to satisfy the customer’s need for a gratifying life with this car. Its demographic is mainly centered at men because of the assertive tone. Men are naturally reactant to big, rough and rugged things, meat, and superiority; so the humorous slogan, “It’s a big fat juicy cheeseburger in a land of tofu”, is an effective ploy to attract more male buyers. Its slogan is also implying the dominance of the Dodge Durango against all the other wimpy and weak cars. Most women are not big fans of huge chunks of meat, clunky, massive trucks, or the interest in cars like men, therefore the advertisement is successful for men but futile for women.

  1. I believe the Dodge Durango ad can appeal to anyone. The ad shows that the Dodge Durango can make anyone's life exciting. "It's a big fat juicy cheeseburger in a land of tofu", simply means that the car is fun and different compared to other vehicles. The Dodge Durango is against all other wimpy and weak cars, but who wants a wimpy and weak car? The Dodge Durango ad shows that it is a strong car and no matter what gender, everyone wants a strong car to satisfy their needs. The ad is also humorous, and the best ads out there are the humorous ones. Even though it was humorous, it gets its point across. The purpose of the ad was to persuade that ANYONE can enjoy the diverse, satisfying, and strong car.
