Assertion Journal

Assertion inn response to Nate’s response to The Case Against Television Advertising by Thomas Wayburn

I agree with Nate on this. Television ads are not in and of themselves inherently evil. I really doubt that Budweiser had making kids use excessive hyperbole when they made their motto. I also think that it is pretty self evident that the military may be hazardous to your health. Military= gun= hazard there is no need to restate that common know fact. Wayburn makes the argument that television ads are becoming increasingly more insidious. This may be true but they are advancing alongside our modern society. Ads are not leading the charge into the abyss. They are merely following the trends of the society we are creating. The advertisements we see every day are helping our economy which is in enough trouble without taking away the main means for companies to reach society. Mr. Wayburn if you seriously can not take the “pure evil” that is television advertizing buy yourself a TiVo.
