Assertion—in response to Robby’s about Muhammad Ali, I am Still The Greatest
Robby your right he may be cocky but you being a runner you should know that metal attitude can make you win or lose. Muhammad Ali had the attitude that he was the best and he proves it again and again and again. You say that real athletes don’t boast about their achievements and what they have done but I believe that is one of the reasons why he was so great, during his professional career he had 56 wins and only 5 loses. That’s a pretty damn good record. He said when he went for a run that “I would run down Fourth Street in downtown Louisville, darting in and out of local shops, taking just enough time to tell them I was training for the Olympics and I was going to win a gold medal. And when I came back home, I was going to turn pro and become the world heavyweight champion in boxing. I never thought of the possibility of failing.” I believe he was so successful in boxing because he made himself think that he was the best and sure as hell be became the best. You say that real athletes are quite about what they achieve, I think this is because some can instill in them self that they are great just by thinking it to themselves, like Cal Ripken, but I think Ali made himself the best by telling himself and everyone else that he was the best.
