I believe what Gates has said to be true. Gates believes that creativity and intelligence can change the world. It is easy to believe when your own creativity and intelligence has brought change to the world and billions of dollars to your pockets. Gates became fascinated in learning about computers when he was in the 7th grade. He stayed interested and optimistic about computers to this day. Clearly this has played out well for Gates. So why wouldn't this attitude work for other people as well?
Using your creativity and intelligence together can create wonderful things. Gates used his creativity and intelligence in technology for computers. Others can use their own creativity and intelligence for things like medicines and tools. There are multiple diseases that have yet to be cured. A person could use their own creativity and intelligence to help create medicines and cures for these diseases and save millions of people. Still talking about medicine, diagnostic tools can always be improved. Gates discusses how he likes how there are new diagnostic tools for identifying medical conditions and new medicines to cure and help people with diseases. These are also reasons Gates stays optimistic.
When people fail at the activities they are participating in it is easy for them to become pessimistic. It is easy to give up and forget about it all together. Gates encourages optimism and working hard because you never know what you can accomplish when you really try and never give up in what you believe in and are interested in.
I believe Gates's message is important and should be followed by all people in all stages of life. If people follow this advice, I believe people in general will be happier, more appreciative people.
