Assertion- Character Keeps You at the Top

This assertion is on this essay http://thisibelieve.org/essay/54815/
I agree with Patrick on his essay that Character keeps you at the top because without character you are doomed to fall back to the bottom. The perfect example of this is the Michael Vick story. We all know that Vick was one of the most highly paid players in the NFL and his jersey was all ways near the top of the list when it comes to sales. But when police discovered his dogfighting ring that all came toppling down. He served his time to and was ready to become a functioning member society, that's society not the NFL. Vick was reinstated into the NFL and assumed that he would be able to play at the level he was at before (which was not that very good in the first place). He was dead wrong, he signed with a team that had a starting quarterback already at the front and thought he could be groomed to become a better QB. Everyone believed that Philadelphia would use him in trick formations throughout the season and he might play even as the backup quarterback. Half way through the season he has 0-minutes of playing time and has rightfully secured the third spot on the depth char. His once illustrious and possible future hall of fame career: all down the toilet because he wanted to make a couple extra bucks by fighting dogs.
