This article describes the journey of Eve Birch and how she was influenced by her neighbors so much. One year her life fell apart and she found herself stranded with her truck and fifty-six dollars. She drove up into the mountains and found a small shack to crawl into for the night. She then met the renter and began to live in a little corner of this shack. This is where she began to feel the love that neighbors have for one another.
When Birch was living in the shack, she received blankets, candles, and food. Her neighbors had dropped it off for her even though they had never met her. A neighbor is a great person to look out for you. In a community, neighbors are there for each other no matter what. They have your back and strengthen you in a time of need. Birch began to feel this neighborly love that she had never felt before.
I agree that neighborly love is important and influential. I met my childhood best friends through being a neighbor as well as my God parents. Neighborhood ties can turn into life long friendships as many did for Eve Birch. A neighbor is someone you can easily lend a hand to when they are feeling down and make a difference in their life. Just as Birch found out, I believe that there is an art to being a good neighbor. Once you master this art, your community will soar.
