Mother Tongue

A
Mother Tongue

In the essay Mother Tongue by Amy Tan, her realization of her switching diction is can be found in everyday life. In life, people usually talk with their friends and family in, I guess, and dumbed-down sort of talking but when they get in front of an audience or write a paper they change their diction and terminology to sound more professional. I do it to and most of my classmates do as well.
