Assertion--- The essay the Greatest Generation By Angela from Sugar City, Idaho.
I agree with Angela’s assertion that the old people are the greatest generation. I too want to grow old and have such a great attitude towards life. Old people live in a state of constant memory and hurt. They have lived through a lot of hard times and they deserve to be bitter and mean, but they never are. They are almost never cruel and there are very few people that scream, “Get off my lawn,” while waving there walking sticks.
No, they are for the most part gentle and kind to every one they wave and always smile they have lived through more terrible things than almost anyone and yet they never get mad or complain about how hard they had it. They are always talking about “the good ol’ days.” Old people never seem to have a care in the world when really they have more to worry about than any other age group. They have to worry about paying for their medications, If their retirement plan is going to last, and most important of all “how long do I have left.”
My grandparents are quite possibly the nicest people on earth. They never seem to have a care in this world other than their grand-children. I know that they have lots of troubles, but they always manage to put on a smiling face when they see me and my siblings. That is true love and I would do almost anything for them in return. I agree that this truly is the greatest generation.
