Assertion: I Will Take My Voice Back

I am your best friend, the person you can't live without. I am the taste on your tongue, the motivation in your mind, the pulsing in your heart. I am what fills your every thought and every action. I am what you will dream of tonight; but you won't want to.
I am your worst nightmare. Every return to me will keep you wanting more. I will entangle you and sufficate you until you are stripped of everything but me. Afterall, I need you. Without you, I am nothing.

The Author of I Will Take My Voice Back describes his struggles with crack and alcohol addiction and what it takes to surrender from the grasps of these drugs. Becoming sober is not an easy thing, obviously. It takes courage, strength, and immense will power to stay clean when the voice of the addiction keeps whispering in your ear. The author of this essay went through this life changing process several times, until he was at the brink of death. Drugs and alcohol cause problems like this to millions of people all over the world. They manifpulate their victim's body and mind, until they have taken over completely. If you don't give them the opportunity, however, they are nothing.
