Assertion- Holly Dunsworth

I am Evolution- Holly Dunsworth

Holly Dunsworth added a lot of controversial ideas in one paper, and it definitely created audience reaction. She talks about people’s beliefs, science, evolution, and internal feelings too. She says that for her, evolution is life. Her job is focused around it and figuring out the mysteries of it. She even takes it on herself as a human female to uncode fossils about it.

Dunsworth says that she doesn’t “believe in Evolution” she “believes evolution.” She claims that when you say you believe “in” something, you have hope that it exists but you don’t completely believe it. I don’t believe in evolution, but through her ethos I believed that she certainly did believe it. She adds ethos right away saying that she’s a paleoanthropologist. She talks about how she has dug up fossils all over the world, and has been interested in it since she was little. She never really uses strong pathos besides interesting viewpoints in her article. It consists more of her viewpoint of logos and why she believes evolution makes sense. One thing I appreciate about her essay is that she doesn’t try to persuade people that their beliefs are wrong. Instead, she just talks about hers.

Holly Dunsworth put an interesting perspective on my beliefs, which mean a lot to me and define my lifestyle and everyday choices. I don’t believe in evolution. I believe in creation.  Maybe some people think that’s crazy, but everyone thinks things are crazy sometimes, and usually they’re wrong. Think of Einstein. Genius. But people thought he was a nut.
