Assertion Journal
In Do What You Love by Tony Hawk, he expresses his opinion on living a life filled with things you love to do and not letting anything or anyone hold you back. The last sentence of Mr. Hawk's essay basically sums up the entire essay, "You might not make it to the top, but if you are doing what you love, there is much more happiness there than being rich or famous." I completely agree with Tony Hawk's belief in the importance of doing what you love. Money can only buy you material things and can only get you so far. If you make millions at a job that you dread going to every day, then you will not be fully content with your life. You maybe satisfied materially, but that is all. Personal fulfillment is a very important part of your life and contributes to overall health. Emotional and mental satisfaction with yourself comes from personal fulfillment. If daily you get in a bad mood because of your job, it will eventually overflow to other areas of your life. In the same way the opposite can also happen. If you get in a good mood because you enjoy your job, then that can also overflow into the other areas of life. Because doing what you love is so important and rewarding, nothing should hold you back from pursuing your dreams because it impacts your own life and health. I strongly agree with Tony Hawk's thesis in this essay.
