Failure is a Good Thing (A)
Jon Carrol, the author of this essay, takes an interesting viewpoint on 'failure.' Instead of disliking it, he hopes and strives for failure, knowing that he will learn more that way. Beginner's luck is often what comes to mind with instant success, and many times immediate gratification is unnatural. He even wishes failure upon his own daughter, knowing it will help her learn and grow. I agree with the message of this essay; the idea that failure helps you learn exponentially more than success is very true. You learn from your mistakes more than your achievements, and are able to benefit from that knowledge later on. Jon Carrol discusses that fact that failure is an important part of life in this essay. This message is very true, and is well applied to several areas of life.
